History

In September of 1989, with the encouragement and assistance of parents and educators, Giant Steps West was established in Kamloops. It was the first satellite of Giant Steps Montreal. In 2002 the Centre in Kamloops took on a new name "CHRIS ROSE THERAPY CENTRE FOR AUTISM", as we were no longer associated with Giant Steps Montreal. Since our inception, we have developed a strong and supportive reputation in our community. We have developed our own local expertise where we no longer require affiliation with Giant Steps Montreal. Although the name has changed we assure you that our Centre will maintain its strong commitment to providing an intensive therapeutic program for children with autism. Chris Rose Therapy Centre for Autism is funded and supported by School District #73 (Kamloops, BC), The Ministry for Children and Families, the United Way, various community groups/service clubs, and through the commitment of individuals in Kamloops and the surrounding areas.
